Natchilingmiutut vs Natsilingmiutut[edit]

Hi, I undid your edittoInuktitut syllabics because the page you linked to, Natchilingmiutut, doesn't exist. I'm not an expert in this field by any means, but I did a quick search, including skimming the link you added to Natsilingmiutut, and I didn't see anything saying that "Natchilingmiutut" is the preferred spelling, so to err on the side of historcal precedent, I reverted. If you can add a citation to confirm the preferred spelling, please do so. Then you'll want to either:

  1. Move the pagetoNatchilingmiutut
  2. Create a redirectatNatchilingmiutut

Secondly, regarding your changes to Natsilingmiutut:

  1. The reference shouldn't be just a bare link. Please use a citation template like {{cite web}}.
  2. The name shouldn't be just in the infobox; it should be in the article body too. Infoboxes are intended to complement the body, not supplant it. (See also MOS:LEADSENTENCE.)

Hi W.andrea, thank you so much for your help with this update, and I totally understand why you undid my edit, this makes sense. I have revised the citation on the Natsilingmiutut wiki to the Hadlari Consulting Ikajuqtigiit Society – which is the Natchilik community's language authority body – page which demonstrates the current standardized spelling of the language. The other spellings on the Natsilignmiutut wiki page are historical but no longer the expected or preferred spelling in Standard Roman or Syllabics orthographies as they do not accurately reflect the spelling of the language.
I will make another try on the Inuktitut Syllabics wiki page to correctly cite this following your advice, thank you so much KevinKingtype (talk) 20:23, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
