Hi, it was requested that I run my bot to fix all of the double interwiki's on the Birth and Death categories (ieCategory:1984 deaths and Category:1984 births). These categories use templates: Template:Deathyr and Template:Birthyr which contain the majority of the interwiki's. I was wondering if you could just run the bot to remove the interwiki's that it added from these categories, since the templates handle this. The templates are easier to update and wouldn't need the bot to check on them like each individual category. Thanks. ∞Who?¿? 11:21, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 03:09, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name KocjoBot~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.

Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
