Although some prefer welcoming newcomers with cookies, I find fruit to be a healthier alternative.

Hello, MGeog2022, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

  • Please sign your nameontalk pages, by using four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username and the date, and helps to identify who said what and when. Please do not sign any edit that is not on a talk page.
  • Check out some of these pages:

  • Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
    How do I create citations?
    1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  • Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  • In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  • Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  • Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  • In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  • If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
  • ==References==
    {{Reflist}}

What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
AWikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SITPA-IDEAS requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://ideas.asturias.es/en/sitpa-ideas. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nominationbyvisiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello @Philbrick. The article I've written has been translated from Spanish Wikipedia, where it had been written by me, based on information available at https://ideas.asturias.es website. Only some paragraphs were copied as they are. In any case, all of that website's content is licensed under a Creative Commons license (otherwise specified), as stated at https://ideas.asturias.es/en/preguntas-frecuentes ("Licenses" section), so there's no copyright infringement. So I'd like to ask for article's restauration, if possible. Thank you. MGeog2022 (talk) 20:46, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello MGeog2022! Your additions to SITPA-IDEAS have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 19:34, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Whpq, finally, the article has been restored by Sphilbrick. I'm going to edit it to avoid any possible appearance of copyright infringement. MGeog2022 (talk) 21:39, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I missed the license which you placed in the middle of the article. That's not normally how it would or should be done. I've removed it in favour of using the standard attribution template. Also, when translating for another language wiki, you should provide attribution. See Help:Translation. I've added the attribution template to the article talk page. Please keep this in mindd for any future translations or use of Creative Commons sources. Regards -- Whpq (talk) 02:11, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Whpq, the mention to the license in the middle of the article was a part of the article itself (in reference to the maps and other data that the geoportal provides), not an attribution. I didn't think that it was neccesary an explicit attribution, since the source is mentioned at "References" section, sorry.
Later on yesterday, I rewrite the article so it shouldn't match word-by-word with the source, at any paragraph, but perhaps the attribution that you put can remain in place anyway.
I restored the License section today, since it provides useful information about article's subject (it's not about licensing for this Wikipedia article, but about licensing of geoportal's contents for any possible use).
    Thank you for hour help. MGeog2022 (talk) 13:03, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Whpq, after talking with Sphilbrick user about this, we have reached the conclusion that the website itself may not be under CC license (Created Commons clearly applies to the site's maps and other data it provides, but not necessarily to any text in the site itself).
As I've said on previous comment, article's text was rewritten so now it doesn't match to the source (I'll also rewrite the Spanish Wikipedia article). Since for the gallery of Wikimedia Commons images, I understand that no specific attribution is needed (they have their own explicit attributions on Commons), I'll remove the attribution you added yesterday. Please write me if you don't agree on something. MGeog2022 (talk) 13:13, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problems with adding the license section back. I didn't realize it was meant as content. But as the history of the article does include material copied from the web site, the attribution must remain, so I will add that back. -- Whpq (talk) 14:59, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Given the ambiguity of the license with respect to the site versus documents served up by the site, the material has ben revision deleted and I've removed the attribution. -- Whpq (talk) 15:43, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    SITPA-IDEAS moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, SITPA-IDEAS, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 10:43, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Onel5969. I'd like to know what more in-depth coverage about the subject is missing (the article contains sections on the subject's history, the contents it provides, and the license under which that contents are available. I think that's what you find in typical Wikipedia article about a website.
The article includes citations from 3 sources: a primary source (article's subject itself) and 2 secondary sources (a newspaper, and an authoritative blog site (see https://blog-idee.blogspot.com/p/quienes-somos.html, in Spanish: that blog is an official one, not a personal blog). If you could give me details of what is missing for the article to be published. Thank you. MGeog2022 (talk) 14:17, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Onel5969, I've added more references (from different sources) to highlight the subject's notability. I've also added some content, in addition to the references. Please tell me if this is enough to submit the draft for review. Thanks. MGeog2022 (talk) 14:56, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Onel5969, I've already submitted the draft. Since it's to be reviewed, any possible remaining problem will be detected. If the problem that made the article considered as not suitable to be published was only notability, I hope that's fully addressed now, since 5 independent sources are used in the draft at this moment. Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Cerebellum was:
  • reliable
  • secondary
  • independent of the subject
  • Make sure you add references that meet these criteria before resubmitting. Learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. Information icon Hello, MGeog2022. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:Sistema de Información Territorial e Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales del Principado de Asturias, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.

If the page has already been deleted, you can request it be undeleted so you can continue working on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 00:07, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MGeog2022. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, "Sistema de Información Territorial e Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales del Principado de Asturias".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 23:28, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Liz. No problem, I was aware that it was to be deleted. When the draft was rejected for a second time and I read the reasons, I realized that the article's subject wouldn't meet English Wikipedia's notability criteria, and it was unavoidable that it would end up being deleted.
