September 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Velella. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Nanofluid have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Promoting your own publications by adding them as links is regarded as link spam  Velella  Velella Talk   12:57, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to nanotechnology. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. SpinningSpark 17:20, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. SpinningSpark 17:21, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Polymer nanocomposite, you may be blocked from editing. Promoting an academic paper by shoe-horning it into every conceivable page is regarded as link spam - please stop now or risk being blocked  Velella  Velella Talk   17:55, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

These are not the only articles this user has been adding papers from the same author on the same subject. The majority of his edits seem to be aimed just at getting these papers in Wikipedia. It is probably acceptable to have one ref in the most relevant article, but spamming multiple nanotechnology pages with the same, or similar stuff is not. It is almost certainly not justifiable to have such a specific example in the top level article unless it becomes a major use, and it is certainly not necessary to have half a dozen cites for one simple sentence. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Masood1223. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Nanomaterials, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 00:22, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
