Welcome!

Hello, Navstarwelcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, -Poli (talk • contribs) 21:22, 2005 July 26 (UTC)

Quicktime article - your edit "Rocky Road"

[edit]

Hi, you've changed the codename of the apple video codec form "road pizza" to "rocky road" in the quicktime article (here). I'm pretty sure the codec was called "road pizza" - are sure about your edit? Cheers! Peter S. 13:21, 12 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi - I've pulled out some of the links you added to Procter & Gamble for a couple of reasons:

When you add links to an article, please take a moment to make sure they point somewhere useful. If the link points to a disambiguation page such as tissue, you can 'disambiguate' the link by typing [[Biological tissue|tissue]] (which will appear as tissue) instead. Hope this all makes sense. Happy editing! -SCEhardt 19:47, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

AYBABTU

[edit]

As an occasional editor of the AYBABTU article, I wanted you to know that someone has suggested that the transcript of the opening and closing dialog be deleted. Personally, I think this is ludicrous, but your support is needed to keep the information on Wikipedia. If you are in favor of keeping the text, as it is clearly used under fair use guidelines, please enter a KEEP vote on its AFD page. Thanks! --BRossow 05:28, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Maxell Blown Away Guy.PNG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 12:13, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Mount Everest

[edit]

Per your edit summary for this edit: Mount Everest is indeed not located in the United States, but rather is located on the border between Nepal and China. Were you thinking of or did the person who origanlly write the original sentence mean Mount Rushmore or another famous mountain in the US preceded by mount? -JCarriker 17:57, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Regarding your edit, and the question in the summary [1]. The citation request was placed because a theory or opinion was put forth and there was no source provided for it. The citation required would have been one where Will Wright or another Maxis employee perhaps stated in an interview that this is why these sounds were used. Please don't remove citation request tags unless they're being blatantly abused without providing the citation or discussing it on the talk page. With no citation forthcoming the tag shouldn't have been removed without removing the text that needed citation.--Crossmr 21:54, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia; it is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Bobanny 15:15, 22 September 2006 (UTC) Please do not remove content from Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Bobanny 15:17, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, Navstar. I confused you with the vandal on the hoodie article (and others) who keeps adding bizarre gender references. It seems like the same person is using different IP addresses and I accidentally pegged you as one of them when you were actually fixing the vandalism. Sorry. Image:SWRepublic-Emblem.PNG listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:SWRepublic-Emblem.PNG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Non-free use disputed for Image:Quispquake.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Quispquake.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:46, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Origins (cosmetics), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Origins (cosmetics) is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Origins (cosmetics), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Roxio Toast has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sourced exclusively with primary sources. No indication of notability anywhere.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
