Hello, Photo2222, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Our intro page provides helpful information for new users - please check it out! If you need help, visit Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on this page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

I really like your additions of fish-related articles. Very nice work. Make sure you link to them wherever possible (and plausible of course). |→ Spaully 21:22, 5 May 2007 (GMT)

Many thanks for the kind comment - as a newbie here it's good to know the pages are being seen and especially nice to know they are appreciated! Any constructive criticism would be really appreciated. Thanks!
No problem. It's refreshing to see a new account that isn't vandalising! A few hopefully constructive things you might want to take note of:
With user talk page entries like this make sure you sign your entry with ~~~~, which produces a time-stamped signature.
Further to my point about making sure your articles are linked to, when you create an entry on an organism with using its' common name (which is normal), remember to create a redirect page from the species name. This means that preexisting articles which link to the species will find your page. A redirect is a page with just: #REDIRECT [[Clown coris]]
Consider adding {{Fishproject}} to the talk pages of fish articles. This will allow people editing your page in future to get guidance at the Fishes project, or for editors to find your article from it.
Really all quite minor things, and not related to the articles themselves. Keep it up :) |→ Spaully 20:01, 7 May 2007 (GMT)

Article creation[edit]

Could you please expand more to the articles you have created? Although the creation of such articles are appreciated, there is a possibility of deletion for lack of content. Thanks. --Dark Falls talk 07:08, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In July you added an introduction to this page and in it mentioned bonefish are not particularly good to eat. The page cited doesn't mention anything about consumption, except that ciguatera poisoning has been reported. I don't know anything about fish, the only reason I bring this up is that I read the I-Kiribati (peoples of Kiribati) have been eating this fish for hundreds if not thousands of years. --Henry W. Perhaps I was a little too liberal in re-writing the phrase "Flesh is bony and not esteemed" - I admit I was struggling to find less stilted English for it! I have no further reference material for this fish; perhaps the statement shouldn't stand.Photo2222 (talk) 19:46, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You for Wikipedia Freeware Picture[edit]

Hello, My name is Duane Hurst and I recently made a free (non-commercial) English web site to share information with people. I added links to your Wikipedia/Wikimedia freeware picture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Anthia_goldfish.JPG). I also gave credit to you on my web pages for your work. Thank you for sharing with the public. My website is:

http://www.freeenglishsite.com/

I add pictures such as yours to one of the following major sections of my site: 1. World section - contains information and over 10,000 images of every world country and territory. Link at: http://www.freeenglishsite.com/world/index.htm

2. USA section - contains information and images of every USA state and territory. Link at: http://www.freeenglishsite.com/world/usa/index.htm

3. English section - "Mel and Wes" lessons in conversation format. Stories are located in various USA states and world countries such as China, England, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Thailand. Each lesson has many slang terms and idioms, which I link to my Slang Dictionary. This eventually will have over 5,000 terms. Currently, it has about 3,000 slang and idioms. I regularly add new lessons and slang terms. Link at: http://www.freeenglishsite.com/english/lessons/index.htm Slang Dictionary link at: http://www.freeenglishsite.com/english/slang/Eslang_a.htm

Prior to retirement, I taught English at several private and public universities in the United States.

Please share this free site with your friends. I hope all will enjoy the pictures and find the English information useful. Sincerely,  Duane Hurst in Utah, USA
