Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:DAT-Solutions-Logo.svg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:DAT-Solutions-Logo.svg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 04:45, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:DAT-Solutions-Logo.svg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:DAT-Solutions-Logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:13, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Current Events Archive[edit]

Hi, your new template Portal:Current events/Monthly Intro Text looks fine on the front end, so I'm happy. On the back end, maybe try an optimization pass, for performance reasons, before deploying to many pages. Matt Fitzpatrick (talk) 03:43, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Matt Fitzpatrick: Thanks. I've tried to make the logic as shallow as possible, reducing the nested logic and trying to use binary if/thens and avoiding any Lua modules. The maths for the leap year are the most complex. If there was an equivalent of a SWITCH block, I could reduce the total number of branches. Can you suggest the names of any Template wizards I could consult? — RossO (talk) 17:07, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

{{#switch:}} could be an option. Not sure how fast it is though, would need testing. Another trick I sometimes see is concatenation, i.e. instead of testing if A equals 1 and B equals 2, testing if AB equals 12. Matt Fitzpatrick (talk) 22:42, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1997 to 2016 calendars[edit]

Would you mind changing Portal:Current events/January 1997/CalendartoPortal:Current events/December 2016/Calendar to invoke Module:Current events calendar like you did for 1996 and 2017? GeoffreyT2000 (talk, contribs) 01:02, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@GeoffreyT2000: Yes, I will do that, over the next week or so. — RossO (talk) 16:36, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@GeoffreyT2000: I have updated all of the Januarys for those years. Would you take some time and double check that they are rendering correctly? (FYI, the Increment and Decrement bookmarklets makes it easier to navigate the years.) — RossO (talk) 17:04, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@GeoffreyT2000: Januarys through Decembers are now updated. I should have caught all of them. Please review as you have time. — RossO (talk) 19:05, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Current events subpages[edit]

Just a reminder that the day should not have a leading zero: Portal:Current events/2003 January 2 not Portal:Current events/2003 January 02. If you create them with a leading zero, they don't get displayed on the month page. -- John of Reading (talk) 06:15, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @John of Reading: I just started in on February and will make sure to take this into account in my scripts. Thanks for already having moved the Jan 1 - 9 day pages. — RossO (talk) 06:19, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: The Associated Publishers has been accepted[edit]

The Associated Publishers, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Start-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. Most new articles start out as Stub-Class or Start-Class and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask at the help desk. Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.

If you would like to help us improve this process, please consider leaving us some feedback.

Thanks again, and happy editing!

A tag has been placed on Module:Current events archive calendar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nominationbyvisiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. * Pppery * it has begun... 00:30, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service[edit]

Hi RossO! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over six months.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in six months.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|RossO|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name subscribed to the FRS, you may be receiving this message on your new username's talk page still. If so, make sure your new account name is subscribed to the FRS, using the same procedure mentioned above.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you!
