HiSpaceDude777! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia.
Be our guest at the Teahouse! The Teahouse is a friendly space where new editors can ask questions about contributing to Wikipedia and get help from experienced editors like Rosiestep (talk).

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, SpaceDude777, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as NGC 777, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! LinkDirectory5000 (talk) 17:27, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A page you started (NGC 403) has been reviewed!

[edit]

Thanks for creating NGC 403, SpaceDude777!

Wikipedia editor Meatsgains just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Nice work on NGC 403! Are you going to expand?

Hello, SpaceDude777. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, VY Orionis, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Lithopsian (talk) 21:40, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just to expand. The WP:PROD process is a simple and easy way to ditch an article. It is also very simple and easy to block that process. I suggest reading the relevant policies carefully before doing so, because if it goes to the long tedious deletion process it is going to get deleted anyway. The only hope is to come up with some special thing about the star that would make it meet WP:NASTRO, the guidelines for notability of astronomical objects. I couldn't find anything, certainly there is nothing in the article at the moment. Did they find a planet with actual little green men in orbit? Deletion discussion about VY Orionis

[edit]

Hello, SpaceDude777,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether VY Orionis should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/VY Orionis .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Lithopsian (talk) 22:06, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    @SpaceDude777:

    Hi. As a courtesy notice, I just updated your significant contribution with UGC 12158, fixing references and did some cleanup. I did appreciate the comment found on the Milky Way mimic, that helped me elsewhere. Please do feel free to correct any of my own silly mistakes here. Thank you for earlier addition of this page.
