(Belated) Welcome[edit]

Hello, StuartDouglas, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} and your question on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 18:12, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 4[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Zenith Lives!: Tales of M.Zenith, the Albino, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Mann (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:34, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. The article Against Nature (Obverse Books) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I cannot find significant discussion of this book in reliable sources per WP:NBOOK. Google search results in bookshop sites, blogs, and social media.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 02:36, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Wildthyme in Purple has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no indication it meets WP:N

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

WP:BURDEN and Obverse books[edit]

Claims of notability without actually providing reliable third party sources about the specific subject are as meaningless as a fart in a windstorm. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 17:10, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

also take a look at WP:NOTINHERITED just because something related to something may be notable, the other subjects notability does not rub off and make the other thing notable. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 17:12, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Potential conflict of interest[edit]

Based on the fact that your user name is one of primary individuals involved in the articles that you have been editing:

Information icon Hello, StuartDouglas. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 17:48, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop making edits to subjects directly related to your business. You should instead use the talk page and make suggestions. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 11:28, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Stuart, I do think it would be a good idea to keep your head down and not edit the Obverse Books article, or any article directly related to OB's publications. You can alert editors to news coverage of your publications through the talk page, but I would also suggest hanging back a bit and giving your readers a chance to pick up on this coverage through your website and social media first.Rankersbo (talk) 09:53, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough - it seems (even on a site as mentally challenging as Wikipedia) an odd idea that a person who knows about a thing shouldn't talk about that thing or post links to that thing (esecially since I don't post links to other links on either the website or the our facebook/twitter page only the announcements themselves - and apparently these places aren't reliable enough anyway), but hey ho, that wouldn't even make the top twenty inanities on Wikipedia :) StuartDouglas (talk) 11:33, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Those are suggestions there is no prohibition from editing a COI area. I'd just understand that if people know they scrutinize you more. For example I wrote Dax Charles article, I know this person personally, that didn't mean I couldn't write the article I just had to make sure it was sourced with WP:RS and followed WP:NPOV. Orphaned non-free media (File:NinniesCoverObverseBooks, 2013.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:NinniesCoverObverseBooks, 2013.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:12, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

May 2013[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 11:55, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice. Appreciated.StuartDouglas (talk) 12:27, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Don't log out to edit war, as you did with 81.101.253.171 (talk · contribs). It's deceptive and will get you blocked. Consider this your only warning. Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:01, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Since I did no such thing, as easily demonstrated, what possible basis do you have for this warning?StuartDouglas (talk) 14:21, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of The Ninnies for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Ninnies is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Ninnies until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 00:47, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

regarding "agendas"[edit]

Yes, i do have an "agenda", to keep Wikipedia an encyclopedia whose articles meet the WP:N requirement for a stand alone article so that Wikipedia remains an encyclopedia and WP:NOT a free advertising platform or free fan wiki.

Your agenda appears to be one to keep promoting items which enhance the visibility of the franchise for which you write and publish, which is an agenda which is specifically prohibited. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:20, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edittoAdventure story may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s and 1 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Disambiguation link notification for November 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Obverse Books, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dale Smith. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ann Sears moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Ann Sears, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
