Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that in this edittoChurch of Ireland, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 07:14, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add original researchornovel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Dunleer. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 08:06, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please also do not add sources/references that do not support the text you place them alongside. (This Irish Times article, for example, makes no mention of Dunleer. And so cannot be used to support the text added.) Please see WP:VER and WP:SYNTH. And, also, stop uploading copyrighted images to Wikimedia Commons. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 13:26, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. As before. Please do not rely on "I'm from Dunleer" or『the GAA club is called Lann Léire therefore so is the town』type WP:OR and WP:SYNTH to support or justify changes. Content (including additions and changes to content) should be supported by reliable and verifiable references. Rather than "I know it's true" type statements. According to the body of the article (and the refs that support it), the town became known as Dún Léire (over Lann Léire) some time between the 12th and 13th centuries. If the GAA club maintains this historical connection then that's grand. But all modern uses (incl. the placenames commission entry, the local community welcome signage on the way into the town, the corporation signage, the An Post post office name, etc) all use the modern name. Over the 7th to 12th century name. The 12th century was a long time ago. (Note, while I've added the historical/archaic name to the "other name" section in the infobox, there's nothing to indicate that it should be given "equal billing" with the modern/official/common Irish name.) Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 18:19, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
