Welcome![edit]

Hello, Ttomi218, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

  • Contributing to Wikipedia
  • The five pillars of Wikipedia
  • How to edit a page and How to develop articles
  • How to create your first article
  • Simplified Manual of Style
  • You may also want to complete the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit the Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Again, welcome! --Darwinek (talk) 16:39, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Don't template the regulars[edit]

Ouch! You've used a template to send a message to an experienced editor. Please review the essay Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars or maybe listen to a little advice. Doesn't this feel cold, impersonal, and canned? It's meant in good humour. Best wishes. Ian.thomson (talk) 12:11, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an experienced editor, I was just following the Wikipedia:Cleaning_up_vandalism article's checklist by warning the offending user, who just happened to be a "regular". I believe I've cleaned up a vandalising edit correctly and in good faith, a regular should have known all the better than to vandalise a page for a joke. Ttomi218 (talk) 12:30, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:Assume good faith, one of the central pillars of this site. Which is more plausible, an experienced administrator trusted enough to have access to users' IP addresses, dealing with this huge mess:
    • accidentally reintroduced an older element while getting rid of newer vandalism?
    • deliberately vandalized the page?
Accidents are not vandalism. This isn't all robotic procedures. Ian.thomson (talk) 21:33, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
