What is the purpose of the asterisks (*) in the 1996 NCAA Division III women's basketball tournament and all the other articles? I did not add it to 1997 because I do not know what they are used for. Hey There! Thank you for flagging this -- the asterisks on the teams mark the hosts and the asterisks on the scores indicate overtime periods. I borrowed them from some of the other Division II and Division III tournaments but forgot to notate them on the D3 tournaments. I will go back and add them.
What is your argument in favor of sentence case for article titles such as NCAA Division I women's golf championship? Is the argument that a specific event such as the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship would be title case while a reference to a non-specific event would be sentence case? Hello and thank you for your contributions in early NCAA men's gymnastics. I've been going through the 1938 through 1949 editions to add more information and sourcing to what you've already provided. I did notice one previous miss ... there was attribution to Henry Crown Field House for the events that Chicago hosted whereas newspaper reporting from the events credited that to Bartlett Gymnasium.
I've made my way now to 1950, where there seems to be little recorded via newspapers of the event. Do you have any references that would indicate Gillis Field House as the host for the 1950 NCAA gymnastics championships? It's fairly well established that it was held in West Point and hosted by Army, however I couldn't find an exact location on a brief once-over.
