Vecinos (English: Neighbors) is a Mexican television series created by Eugenio Derbez, based on Spanish television series Aquí no hay quien viva.[1] It premiered on Las Estrellas on July 10, 2005.[2][3] The series portrays the life of everyday people in Mexican barrios, where anything can be found — the jealous housewife, the spinster, the strange family, etc. Each episode features the interactions between these peculiar neighbors, where they deal with problems both real and imagined, such as ghosts, treasures, ripoffs, fights, etc.
The series has been renewed for a sixteenth and seventeenth season.[4] The sixteenth season premiered on June 9, 2024.[5]

When Eugenio Derbez traveled to Spain in 2005, he saw a TV series named Aquí no hay quien viva, which features the same kinds of problems that people have in the barrios. He thought a Mexican remake would be a good idea, so he created Vecinos.[1] In March 2017 it was announced that the series would return for a fourth season.[6] The fourth season premiered on August 28, 2017.[7][8] The series has been renewed for a fifth season, that premiered on 24 March 2019.[9][10] In January 2019 executive producer Elias Solorio announced on his Twitter account that filming of the sixth season had begun.[11][12] Filming of the ninth season began in June 2020.[13][14]
In January 2023, the series was renewed for fourteenth and fifteenth season.[15] The fourteenth season premiered on March 19, 2023.[16] The fifteenth season premiered on April 16, 2023.[17]
