    Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: automatic

    Programming language(s): AWB

    Source code available: AWB

Function overview: Fix deprecated parameters found in Category:CS1 errors: deprecated parameters

Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Special:Permalink/809423147#CS1 deprecated parameters

Edit period(s): Multiple runs until finished

Estimated number of pages affected: 20,000+

    Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes

Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): Yes

Function details: Basically, using the AWB template calls, it will fix these parameters when it these templates:

    Deprecated CS1|2 parameters
    Deprecated parameter Replace with
    |doi_brokendate= |doi-broken-date=
    |doi_inactivedate= |doi-inactive-date=
    |template doc demo= |template-doc-demo=
    |trans_chapter= |trans-chapter=
    |trans_title= |trans-title=

For example it will find \|trans_title= and replace it with |trans-title=. There appear to be almost 50,000 cases of trans_title=, but I haven't been able to parse the actual number that need to be fixed. The bot will operate out of Category:CS1 errors: deprecated parameters just to play it safe, but will still only do so inside the templates linked above. Nihlus 21:34, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Discussion[edit]

Request: Can you please ensure that the bot operates only in main (article) space for now? There are sometimes strange cases in other namespaces, so they should probably be handled by humans. – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:14, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I forgot to include that. I have no reason to operate it outside of mainspace. Nihlus 02:29, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Consider updating Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Rename template parameters too to save runs. -- Magioladitis (talk) 14:31, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Trial complete. @Cyberpower678: See here. Nihlus 16:51, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
