Keep. If there are fifteen additional parameters, a merger sounds technically problematic. The template already has about 70 parameters, and adding 15 more will make it harder to use. 123.51.107.94 (talk) 04:32, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Keep pending demonstration of how this merge would work. The nominated template is transcluded in about 900 articles, so it is clearly useful. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:23, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No need for this template. Template:FoP-USonly has now its own content that is more aligned to its purpose – for photos of buildings from no-FOP countries that cannot be hosted at Wikimedia Commons. For "Template:FoP-US", it has no forseeable use since "Template:FoP-USonly" has its own content and no longer uses this template. For photos of U.S. buildings, these can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons instead of locally hosting photos here (unless tagged with "keep local" templates, but files with "keep local" do not really need "Template:FoP-US" because it is very impractical).
Comment - The use of this template on enwp for an image does not affect the licensing. So the my question would be is there are use for it in managing files for transfer to Commons? When I checked, there are no transclusions of this template in file space. Have all files that had this template been transferred to Commons which is why there are none now? There is a corresponding FoP-US template on Commons. -- Whpq (talk) 19:33, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Delete - with no impact to licensing and no utility in assisting transfers to Commons, there is no need for this template. -- Whpq (talk) 03:21, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. It serves to tell users that the copyright in a building is irrelevant to pictures of the building. It's a useful reminder that they shouldn't be worried about building pictures' copyright status, unless there's an unrelated issue. 123.51.107.94 (talk) 04:29, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@123.51.107.94: in my knowledge the job of hosting U.S. buildings falls on WikiCommons. Enwiki is supposed to only host copyrighted buildings of no-FOP countries (the reformed {{FoP-USonly}} handles that). But for copyrighted U.S. buildings, these can be hosted on or transferred to WikiCommons instead, since U.S. has Commons-acceptable architectural FOP anyway. That is also in compliance with WP:NOTREPOSITORY ("keep local" files are handled by {{Keep local}}). The template {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}} groups files needed for license verification, and photos that are too suspicious for transfer are best sent to WP:FFD forum. Therefore, I do not see any future use of {{FoP-US}} here on enwiki. JWilz12345(Talk|Contrib's.)11:18, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
