If the situation is "missing, inadequate, or does not accurately describe its functionality" then perhaps these deficiencies should be addressed before we consider deleting this template. Bduke (talk) 09:09, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. We shouldn't pick and choose what we think is a good award to allow a navigation template and what isn't. The current rule is if the award has an article (for example, Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Sound Design), and the award winners have articles, then the navigation template is valid. As a side note, I once was a fan of these award templates (and I think I might have created a few myself), but now think that these are better suited for categories and lists. But that is something that should be handled in a much wider discussion. Gonnym (talk) 12:45, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Keep for failure to perform WP:BEFORE. I was able to create threesix new articles for notable (mostly Tony Award–winning) sound designers listed in {{DramaDesk SoundDesignMusical}}, so I suspect that more of these people are notable. The three navboxes should be merged, though, since the "Musical" and "Play" awards were forked from the original "Best Sound Design" award. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:12, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. WTAF is an essay. I recognize that WP:BEFORE is intended for articles, but the spirit of it, especially "If the article can be fixed through normal editing, then it is not a candidate for AfD" applies here. It was trivial to determine the notability of half a dozen people in these templates and create properly referenced stub articles for them. Note to closer: A close of keep would be fine; I would also be happy to merge these templates, per my note above. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:29, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Again, it was trivial to find another notable person to link to in this navbox and create an article for them. I would not be surprised if every person in this navbox meets Wikipedia's notability standards. A little WP:BEFORE would be helpful instead of just counting links. And again, I will be happy to merge these navboxes, which is probably the best outcome. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:11, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
keep for now since new particles have been added. merging is also an interesting option, but we should start a new discussion for that. Frietjes (talk) 18:38, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. No point in creating a navigation template for an award that was just handed this year. There should be a few articles before this needed. Gonnym (talk) 12:47, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. It seems to me that this template is up for deletion, because one of the two names doesn't have an article. We know that the template is going to grow in the next few years when more names are added (with articles). SibTower1987 (talk) 16:32, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. 1) Arguments of WP:CRYSTAL are just as guilty of assuming that that the Drama Desk organization will change its mind and revert to the previous actor/actress categories. The merged gender neutral award is the official award, deserves its own template. If another change happens in the future, then open a discussion at that time, taking into account whatever conditions may exist in that (possible) future situation. 2) Arguments for merging ignores that this is a standalone award, with a relationship to the previous two but still its own award. Would also create a massive template with actor history, actress history, and the new award name history. Is there precedence, with more than one or two years of "new merged award" history, from some other theatre or sports awards? I note, in a related but reversed example, that neither Template:DramaDesk PlayDirection nor Template:DramaDesk MusicalDirection include the 1955 to 1974 history found in Template:DramaDesk Director (which is also silent about the two awards that replace it), as the three awards are distinct despite a somewhat connected history. Standalone awards, thus standalone templates. Jmg38 (talk) 05:38, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. Newsletters shouldn't be deleted, imo. This just shovels it into the endless crap pile of user talk pages never to be seen again; it may not have been widely distributed but it existed. jp×g🗯️06:35, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed main page templates from 2006. No documentation or categories. Now a maintenance burden. Subst and delete on the two pages where they are used. – Jonesey95 (talk) 02:16, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: on the two historical pages these are in use on, I've applied "subst:" and pulled the code into them so that your deletion won't affect them. Cheers, — The Transhumanist10:30, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It would be good to delete "WCAG web safe contrast ratio.svg" as it does not promote actual accessibility. WCAG 2.x is particularly flawed in how it calculates contrast for text, and a significant percentage of colors it "passes" should fail (47%), and it fails some colors that should pass (22%). There are other emerging standards that are based on science, but we should retire these poorly conceived notions. Myndextalk09:39, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
