Wilhelm Saayman (b. 1962) is a South African self-taught artist living and working in Johannesburg.[1] He usually works with drawings and watercolours, with a distinctive style of naïve line, playful colour, and scrawling text.[2] With a sense of humor and irony, Saayman explores urban existence, masculinity, and personal relations.[1] The drawings are often character-driven and narrative,[2] reminiscent of storyboards and graphic novels.[1]
