Welcome to WikiProject Databases, a WikiProject to assemble and compile a comprehensive Database reference for Wikipedia. This involves creating, organizing, editing, and improving articles related to databases.
This project covers all aspects of databases, including (but not limited to) logical design methodologies, query languages, storage systems, physical design, administration, and security. The information currently available on Wikipedia concerning this important, far-reaching, topic requires the talents of all available subject-matter experts, writers, editors, and those with organizational skills.
Goals
The ultimate aim of this WikiProject is to create a comprehensive Database reference for Wikipedia. As a result, the scope of the project includes all articles in the area of databases, although there is likely to be some overlap with articles in areas such as mathematics, logic, and software engineering as well. The specific goals of the project are to:
Discover and tag all database-related articles with the {{WPDATABASE}} banner.
Split, merge, delete, and create articles as needed to build a useful and comprehensive body of knowledge.
Develop individual database articles to the highest-possible standard.
Please feel free to list your new articles on databases or database-related topics here (newer articles at the top, please). Any new articles that have an interesting or unusual fact in them should be suggested for the Did you know? box on the Main Page.

PCJockey (talk) 06:45, 21 February 2012 (UTC) I'm interested in the technology of databases. Currently my two favorite engines are SQLite and PostgreSQL. I spend most of my time doing development work, so that is likely to be the focus I will bring to this group.[reply]
Deepdraft (talk) Interested in analytical, in-memory database, in-database analytics and astronomical databases
Notque (talk) Database Administrator most of my life, use a variety of databases regularly and tend to believe that all databases have a use case that is reasonable. Open Source, and Enterprise level databases, often in predictive analytics.
Blancos khim (talk) Interested in InnoDb optimization, transactions and normalization. I prefer InnoDB becaus i prefer data integrity to speed of the database.
SeraphimbladeTalk to me Longtime developer on various types of databases and DB access layers for them (MySQL/Maria, SQL Server, Oracle, some Postgre), have also messed around with NoSQL.
Linearizable (talk) 09:06, 14 October 2017 (UTC) I'm looking to clean up and update database implementation/theory related pages. If you're here looking for work to do, feel free to ping me on the talk page.[reply]
Derek M (talk) 17:35, 9 January 2018 (UTC) I'm looking to improve Top Importance pages.[reply]
Varybit (talk) 23:07, 20 March 2019 (UTC) Worked on desktop databases, flat-file forms, distributed data ('NoSQL' these days), VLDB. Experience with several mainstream SQL databases including DB2, Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL. Transactional, BI, reporting and accumulating.[reply]

Get help from a bot to replace {{WikiProject Databases}} (and synonyms used) with {{WikiProject Computing|databases=yes|science=auto}}.
If the talk page already transcludes {{WikiProject Computing}}, add |science=auto|databases=yes
Set |database-importance= with the value of importance= in the Databases template, if present.
If|science-importance= is not in the existing WP Comp template, set it with the value of |computer-science-importance= in the Databases template if present.
If|importance= is not in the existing WP Comp template, set it with the value of |computing-importance= in the Databases template if present.
Add a Databases task force, accessed with databases=yes
Add a Database theory task force parameter, accessed with database-theory=yes, which adds the article to WP:WPCS and to its new database theory task force
