Women in Red is hosting a virtual editathon from April 1 to 30, 2017,onWomen in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in support of the Wikimedia emphasis on the CEE countries for Spring 2017.
The virtual edit-a-thon allows enthusiasts from around the globe to participate in the work. The main goals of the event are:
The objective is to create or improve articles on women from the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe which include Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. In addition to biographies, we welcome articles on women's works, their achievements, their writings and their organizations.
The Meta Wikimedia site on CEE Spring 2017 presents article lists for the countries and language communities of Central and Eastern Europe based on Wikidata. By clicking on each country, you can find a listing which includes prominent "Women". The names in black rather than blue are women who do not yet have biographies on the English Wikipedia. Basic Wikidata information and access to articles in other languages on these women can be found by clicking on the Q item in the Wikidata column.
In addition we have Wikidata red link lists on women from all the countries mentioned which can be found in the Women in Red navbox. A selection of these is listed below.
