No Hogs allowed[edit]

Gog, because Hog Farm is traveling and is not supposed to be editing, I am adding his note here to be sure you see it. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 15:37, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Sandy, that's what it looked like to me, but it seemed best to observe the forms. (Then it's not my fault ) Gog the Mild (talk) 15:44, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You can please some of the people some of the time, with luck! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 15:47, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Final Fantasy Tactics[edit]

Hi@Gog the Mild: Final Fantasy Tactics is scheduled for Feb. I have the article listed at WP:TFAP as a potential request for June 20, the game's 25th anniversary. Would it be possible to delay this article's TFA appearance until then? Thanks. Z1720 (talk) 16:28, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

HiZ1720, sure. Swapped out. Gog the Mild (talk) 16:39, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Gog the Mild did you see User:David Fuchs review here? (I haven’t read it but saw it was lengthy.) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:19, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sandy, I have now, thanks. I would summarise it as "the article is wobbly, but not fatally flawed". As usual I await any comments or guidance from the FAR coordinators. Absent any I will run the article as is. Gog the Mild (talk) 15:36, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am out of time today to follow, and still have not had time to read it, not sure if you wanted to ping the FAR Coords, or what they might add. As you know, I am never opposed to running "wobbly" TFAs that are "not fatally flawed" :) Bst, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 16:56, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's got some issues but nothing huge or anything that would require a serious overhaul versus light edits. The top two editors are still active and I let them know it's going to show up at TFA some point soon so I imagine it'll be addressed fairly quickly. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 18:38, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks David, here would be good - you'll need to creaate it as a new page. Gog the Mild (talk) 18:18, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Took an opening stab—I just copied the length from the current TFA, but I recall there's some range for blurbs in terms of word count with or without images—is that written down somewhere official? Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 20:44, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
925-1,025 characters, including spaces. Or 1,000-1,100 if there is no image. You had 1,089. I have tweaked it a little, trying to arrange things into a chronological flow. What do you think? Gog the Mild (talk) 21:11, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

chinese new year[edit]

i recently noticed that ZKang123, fac nominator for Chinatown MRT station with a blurb currently scheduled for about a week from now, had originally requested for the blurb to run in february due to chinese new year. currently, the blurb for SMS Oldenburg is scheduled on the requested date, and although the tfa nominator, Vitaium, technically requested that date, there does not appear to be a reason for that date being specifically chosen, as was noted during the nomination discussion.

would it be appropriate to move the mrt station blurb to the originally requested date? ZKang123 has also mentioned possibly being able to obtain a photo of a station entrance appropriately decorated for the occasion.

i do not know much about tfa scheduling, but offhand, i think that the main concern at this point is that a simple swap may not be ideal, since the blurb for Schichau-class torpedo boat is currently scheduled to run a few days after the mrt station's january slot. also, i do not know if a week would be enough notice for all fac nominators involved.

pinging Jimfbleak for january's scheduling and Gog for february's scheduling. dying (talk) 08:57, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Julian of Norwich[edit]

Would it be possible for the intended TFA on 7 February, Julian of Norwich, to be put off for another date? The 650th anniversary of her revelations is on 8 May 2023. There are lots of events planned for her anniversary year, and it would be great if the TFA appeared then. Her festival is commemorated on 8 May in Church of England and the Catholic Church. Amitchell125 (talk) 20:39, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Amitchell125, sure. Can I suggest putting a marker down at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/pending?Gog the Mild (talk) 21:20, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. Amitchell125 (talk) 21:21, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
