This is an interesting essay, Rich, thanks. Obviously both praise and criticism sometimes go over board. (I've put an update into the blog post you mention.) There's another one here, if you're interested in verifying and tracking it:
Wikipedia has far more “Featured Articles” (articles that have won Wikipedia’s highest quality award) on video gaming than it has on chemistry and mineralogy, computing, language and linguistics, mathematics, philosophy and psychology combined.
Thanks! That one might be worth a few minutes. "Coverage on Wikipedia is very good for episodes of Lost, but it doesn't have great coverage of female artists" is another, though just from a comment. "Coverage" is maybe too vague a term to do much with though. All the best: RichFarmbrough, 19:40, 22 May 2015 (UTC).

"...at one point there were articles on every episode of Star Trek, but none of the major cities in Africa." Stephen Harrison.
Lets look at the nostalgia Wiki - frozen on 20 December 2001. Starting with Star Trek there are articles for some of the series, but I could find no episode articles, although there is an episode list for the original series, the beginnings of one for "ENT", and an article about tribbles.
