As of 30 December 2014, most of the Wikimania 2015 website is blank pages. When is the information going to be posted?

When trying to submit my application I get the message The request that was submitted was missing the request forgery protection token. Please return to the form, reload the page and try again. Returning to the form and reloading the page gets the same result. What do I have to do? --Gereon K. (talk) 20:36, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I rewrote the entire application. It worked then. I suppose I had the window open for too long and the cookie was obsolete? However, the error message was confusing. :-) --Gereon K. (talk) 20:44, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Could I and Ата have sysop and translate admin flags in here, please? In order to do pretty the same work as in 2014's wiki: translating wiki, including sidebar and other things in interface which are not from TWN, to Ukrainian and perhaps a little to Russian and translation administration of the wiki (both TA in several wikis); deleting spam/offtopic pages etc. --Base (talk) 06:18, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I support Base, he is experienced TA. Could u give me autoreview permission when translations would start so I will not annoy others with my dozens of translations into Esperanto. --Ochilov (talk) 09:21, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The Main Page should be translatable. Making localized images may be too much, but we can translate at least their descriptions. That's why I made this change.
Sorry, my fault, the importupload-right can only be granted by stewards. But can anyone grant me the admin-rights, so I can edit the MediaWiki namespace and help with the deletion requests? --Brackenheim (talk) 22:11, 28 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Done. You're trusted on other wikis so I'm happy to give this request my approval. Please be careful when editing the MediaWiki space however. CT Cooper ·talk13:08, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello Wikipedians, I demand to sysop and translation admin access. I have a sysop and editor rights in many wiki. I also have the rights to the bureaucrats. You can be sure I can do a good job. Uğurkent (talk) 15:21, 16 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi Ugurkent. Thank you for offering to help out. I think the point being made is that demand means to request something forcefully or claim something as a right. I know that's not what you meant to say, though other users could misunderstand and take offence anyway – I saw this exact thing happen on Commons a short while ago. I would recommend amending your request to make this clear. CT Cooper ·talk17:48, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear Wikimania 2015 Wiki community, I come from Vietnamese Wikipedia and Meta-Wiki. Can I be granted sysop flag on this wiki? With administrative tools, I can more easily help in compiling content and clean up information. I had similar contribution in previous Wikimania Wiki (especially in 2012 (offline) and 2014 (online, almost in translation work)). In addition, the translation admin rights can help me more when updating and editing the content need be translated, as major contribution of mine is in Vietnamese. Vietnam is a country of "Global South" group, since Wikimedia movements should be hightlight more in this area, plus Vietnamese Wikipedia is a large community with over 1 million articles, I think I can help content of Wikimania become closer with Vietnamese by admin and translation admin tools (included edit-interface for sidebar localization).
I'm a sysop on Vietnamese Wikipedia and Vietnamese Wiktionary, and for experience inter-wiki: a sysop on Outreach Wiki and Strategy Wiki (closed now), too. For translation work, I had a ton of contributions in Vietnamese translation on Meta-Wiki and translatewiki.net, also on some multi-language projects of Wikimedia. See details in activity. For additional trust (if realy necessary), I have an account on Foundation Wiki. Thanks for advance. --minhhuy(talk)17:27, 26 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. However, I need a rights to localize the sidebar (edit mediawiki namespace). Can you or CT Cooper grant me the admin-rights? Thank you in advance again. --minhhuy(talk)19:05, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Today, I reverted a bunch of vandalism on the wiki here (e.g. on the main page and other prominent pages). I would like admin rights to more easily take care of these things and help out here. I have been admin for many years on English Wikipedia, commons, and other places. Cheers. Aude (talk) 22:29, 26 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi there, nothing specific; more just general maintenance (deleting unneeded pages, reverting spammers, blocking vandels etc.) and helping with translations (marking pages for translation, approving certain revisions etc.). I've reviewed your contributions and since you're a trusted user, I'm happy to grant you sysop access. Use it well. CT Cooper ·talk19:17, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@CT Cooper: Alright, good to know. I've started importing a few templates that'll be useful. I'm assuming sysops here have pretty wide discretion on what to do; there aren't local policies like enwiki. Could I have translation admin and importer as well, for importing from wikis other than enwiki, meta, wikimania2014, etc, and also for the more messy imports? Thanks, --L235 (talk) enwiki22:19, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes, things are a little more mellow here. I'm happy to grant the translate admin flag too. Unfortunately bureaucrats can't give out the import right locally, only stewards can do that. CT Cooper ·talk22:36, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Should useful templates be imported wholesale from the Wikimania 2014 wiki and from meta? Also, I'd like to import MediaWiki:Wikimedia-copyrightwarning from meta, but that seems like a significant import so I'd like to gather comments. --L235 (talk) enwiki21:36, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear organizers of Wikimania 2015! Will there be child care during the conference? I would like to attend the conference and bring my (almost) 10 year old son. He speaks a bit of English and I'm sure he'd love to play with children of other Wikimania attendees! Thank you, Spinster (talk) 19:04, 28 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer includes a link to the edit counter "X!'s tool". Unfortunately, this link doesn’t work, and it’s not because the link includes &project=wikimania2014.wikimedia.org. The tool doesn’t know the Wikimania-wikis (error message "wt::getUserInfo is not a valid wiki"). Regards --Schniggendiller (talk) 10:52, 6 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

For at least 21 hours Facebook-users know that the Biblioteca Jose Vasconcelos will not be the venue of the Wikimania. Wikimania 2015 will be held at Hilton Mexiko City Reforma. At least this it what you communicate via Facebook. Is it true? And if so, could somebody please explain what the reasons for this change are? In my opinion, the Biblioteca was a big asset of this conference. And why did nobody mention this change of the venue here, in this wiki? This is the first place I expect new informations, not Facebook. This wiki is specifically designed for this conference, Facebook is a "nice to have" (at least for people who like Facebook (I don’t)). I don’t expect the page Venue to be edited into the good state it is now reflecting the change of the venue within hours, but I would expect at least a short notice at Venue. Need help rescheduling my talk
Latest comment: 9 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
My talk was accepted by the review committee, then canceled months later on a technicality with no obvious attempt at informing me of this possibility ahead of time, by email or on wiki. It's not clear how this decision was made, and I'd like to reinstate my talk so I can move forward with scheduling and other preparations. Please help me correct this issue.
@Elitre (WMF): Thanks for bringing this to my attention. There does seem to have been a large increase in spam on this wiki recently, but I've been able to deal with it and will keep on the look out for more. CT Cooper ·talk11:10, 4 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
