Abortion in this country is most often sought by women who ALREADY have children. It's not being used as a form of birth control, but as a way to keep family's sustainable, preserve the life and health of women raising kids, and to forestall risks for problematic pregnancies.
The low birth rate is common to developed nations. Educated women aren't interested in being used as breeding stock.
Maybe if conservatives started actually caring about why women in America make the rational choice to not have kids, then things would change. If anything MORE access to abortion would encourage them to get pregnant.
