Issues with the first paragraph

edit

I have edited the first paragraph, second sentence, which reads: "The concluding section demonstrates that the Christians are the true people of God."

To the author of this sentence perhaps it does demonstrate that "Christians are the true people of God", but that is his/her opinion.

I have read it, and it certainly does not prove to me that Christians are the true people of God. It is likely it will not prove it to a lot of others either. So I have changed it to read: "The concluding section propounds to demonstrate that the Christians are the true people of God." Propound meaning (according to dictionary dot com) "to put forward or offer for consideration, acceptance, or adoption; set forth; propose: to propound a theory."

I have also rearranged the first paragraph so to read much more smoothly. I also agree that the article needs much more work. I don't have the time to do the research necessary, but I will be more than happy to help with editing.

Dubious

edit
"The authenticity of the Dialogue with Trypho and the two Apologies is universally accepted."

Universally? Really? That's amazing; humans have actually agreed on something, and something that happened so long ago to boot. Maybe next we'll all universally agree that the Holocaust that happened less than a hundred years ago was real. Finsternish (talk) 09:19, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I ended up just deleting that part because it's nonsense. Finsternish (talk) 09:25, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

You went pretty quickly from calling it "dubious" to outright deleting it.
Though unsourced as the rest of the section, it is far from nonsense. The issue is about scholars and it is indeed true that the three works are recognized as authentic works of Justin by basically every scholar. Can you come up with a scholar that disputes this?
Your reference to the Holocaust is tasteless and beside the point as there is scholarly consensus about that genocide as well. Str1977 (talk) 22:31, 17 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
