Under Landmarks, below the pictures of Gamla Nature Reserve, I think it’s important to mention that the pictures are featuring the winter views of the region (during the winter). Rather than reverting material into and out of the lead, how about the following as a compromise, to keep the lead short: Change the first sentence of the paragraph to "The earliest evidence of human habitation on the Golan dates to the Upper Paleolithic period; later came the small kingdom of Geshur." Also, after mention of Alexander the Great and before mention of the Caliphate, shorten the others to "Intervening periods occurred involving the Itureans, Hasmoneans, Roman Empire and Ghassanids." ☺Coppertwig (talk) 23:11, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
