this article featured in this[1] video - it was described as the only "disguised orphan dead-end" page on wikipedia. Maybe there will be some extra traffic? Jhadden23 (talk) 23:23, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I agree. I believe this article needs a nicer photo. I think an improved photo would provide Fanta cake with a better representation. In addition to this, maybe this article could be expanded with an additional section? Perhaps the origin/history of the Fanta cake? Argronvall (talk) 14:09, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I totally agree with it as the picture looks very unappealing and not really related with the article even though the topic is very interesting. Mokshita jain (talk) 21:41, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We need to make sure any links added are appropriate. I get the sudden interest in the article, and there are a number of appropriate links to be added, but "creamy" linking to "cream" is not appropriate (creamy is a description of the texture of the layer, and the sentence says shortly after "sour cream" and "whipped cream" which links to the appropriate creams, likewise linking "fluffier" to "proofing (baking technique)" is inappropriate, as it doesn't contain yeast, therefore is not proved). Also changed "sparkling mineral water" to link to carbonated water, as it's slightly more appropriate than spring water in this context. 2A02:C7C:C4CD:A500:643A:F73E:987:8102 (talk) 12:05, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I find it interesting that the original version of the article was not a "dead end" page since it linked to both Germany and Fanta. Sure, it was probably an "orphan" page, but not an "orphan dead end" page. And clearly not a "disguised orphan dead-end" page.

As someone who has done some work for some time on the Dutch Wikipedia and seeing people vandalize an article just because of a YouTube video really disappoints me. Not surprised, just disappointed that humanity is like this. Great job keeping everything in check guys! Wikidrinker (talk) 18:57, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikidrinker - Don't be "disappointed in humanity". The vandals are only a very small minority of the editors to this article recently. A few other people have misplaced but good-intentioned edits, and some others have done really useful edits to bring this article all the way from start class, to stub, and now beyond a stub in just a few days! Undoubtedly, all of whom have been brought here as a result of that YouTube video (either seeing it, or seeing the commotion it caused). 2A02:C7C:C4CD:A500:C85B:5BC:D08C:4157 (talk) 10:59, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
well, to be truthful, as someone who used dto do this, we aren't trying to just ruin it. I personally just wanted to add a neat piece of trivia.
Im sorry, but please dont be sad about humanity as a whole. We had good intentions
The picture looks virtually identical to cheesecake. Doesn't the similarity warrant mention? A short section comparing and contrasting them would be fitting. Bearsca (talk) 18:39, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's due to the YouTube video discussed above. It has attracted a lot of visits from people who don't typically edit. RL0919 (talk) 04:31, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Willondon you made the right call reverting that. My mention of Reddit was simply providing the process which I followed to find these additional sources.
Might I however suggest adding in one or both of the latter two sources to mention that the cake may be called "Spritekuchen" when made with sprite or "Limokuchen" when made with other carbonated beverages.
Limokuchen in particular is probably the most useful of the two to mention, as although both produce plentiful results, Limokuchen seems to be the generic name for it, both used when reference to a specific brand (ie Fanta) is avoided, and for talking about such cakes using any flavour of fizzy drink (even though Fanta/orangeade appears to be the primary/original one used). 2A02:C7C:C4CD:A500:48BD:3BC4:3A5A:93B8 (talk) 23:54, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Could anyone explain to me why Fantakuchen is correct and Fanta-Kuchen isn't? Not to be mean, I study German and I'm honestly curious. LorenzoF06 (talk) 19:14, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
