Featured picture scheduled for POTD

Hi Mikael Häggström,

This is to let you know that File:Thyroid hormone synthesis.png, a featured picture you uploaded, has been selected as the English Wikipedia's picture of the day (POTD) for May 26, 2023. A preview of the POTD is displayed below and can be edited at Template:POTD/2023-05-26. If you have any concerns, please place a message at Wikipedia talk:Picture of the day. Thank you!  — Amakuru (talk) 15:52, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thyroid hormones

Thyroid hormones are hormones produced and released by the thyroid gland, namely triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). They are tyrosine-based hormones that are primarily responsible for regulation of metabolism. T3 and T4 are partially composed of iodine, derived from food. A deficiency of iodine leads to decreased production of T3 and T4, enlarges the thyroid tissue and will cause the disease known as simple goitre. This illustration shows the synthesis of thyroid hormones, as seen on an individual thyroid follicular cell.

Good question. I'm out of town for the moment, but I could probably find this information once I'm back at work.
    Mikael Häggström (talk) 14:35, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again Adamw7. The last few days, the ordered dosage was 1mg/kg/hr, and dosage given was 74 ml of 0.5% methylene blue. I am not familiar with the conversion between mg, ml and % for the substance, but I hope it makes sense to you. Mikael Häggström (talk) 20:35, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I love your steroidogenesis diagram, would you consider making one of the androgen back door pathway?

The diagram on that page sucks and is a headache to look at. I'm researching the backdoor pathway and would be nice to have a better one. I don't know if you have the time, but thought maybe it would be something you would be interested in doing since it's a very interesting pathway. No worries if you are unable to do it, just thought I'd mention it. 3SiameseCats (talk) 15:30, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, that’s a very interesting pathway. Unfortunately, I’m not able to make such diagram in a foreseeable future. Mikael Häggström (talk) 19:26, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    Notice

The article Earth physical characteristics tables has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

AsEarth is already a featured article do we really need this unreferenced data?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Copyright problem on Artificial intelligence

Content you added to the above article appears to have been copied from https://doi.org/10.1007/s00146-022-01585-x, which is not released under a compatible license. Copying text directly from a source is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the content had to be removed. Please let me know if you have any questions. — Diannaa (talk) 16:32, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    Hello Diannaa,
The directly copied content consists of the table, which is arguably not within copyright scope as such, but very well, I accept its removal just in case. Still, could you reinsert the non-table content that I added, as they are my own summaries of the source article? Thank you,

Contents of the table are definitely protected by copyright. I have restored what I could, but it doesn't make a lot of sense any more. — Diannaa (talk) 22:13, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    Blood test

Would it be possible to list all of the blood tests contained in your famous image in a simple vertical text list? This would be extremely helpful I have tried to extract all of the data using software but it looks like I would have to do it by hand. If you happen to have the entire exhaustive text list that would be amazing 2A04:4A43:8A1F:F845:6D07:6A23:A6F5:7184 (talk) 15:56, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I don't have a more concise list than the tables at Reference ranges for blood tests. I manually added each box to the diagram. Mikael Häggström (talk) 17:16, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
