The 2013–14 Minnesota Timberwolves season is the 25th season for the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). 2011 #2 overall pick Derrick Williams was traded to Sacramento after just under two and a half seasons with the team, with management citing fit concerns as his minutes fluctuated.[1]

On draft night, Minnesota traded the rights to Trey Burke to the Utah Jazz for players they would later select at #14 and #21 overall, UCLA swingman Shabazz Muhammad and Louisville center Gorgui Dieng.[2]
