"Conjoined Queens" is the eighth episode of the seventh seasonofRuPaul's Drag Race.[1][2] It originally aired on April 20, 2015. Nelsan Ellis and LeAnn Rimes are guest judges, and former contestant Latrice Royale also makes a guest appearance for the episode's mini-challenge.

    Episode[edit]

Former Drag Race contestant Latrice Royale (pictured in 2022) makes a guest appearance.

Kennedy Davenport won the episode's "Orange Is The New Drag"[3] mini-challenge,[4] which has contestants give prison-inspired looks in jumpsuits.[5][6][7] Former contestant Latrice Royale is a guest, reprising her role as a prison officer in Tuckahoe Prison.[8][9]

Contestants are paired for the main challenge, which has teams appear as conjoined twins.[10] The teams are: Jasmine Masters and Kennedy Davenport, Ginger Minj and Sasha Belle, Jaidynn Diore Fierce and Tempest DuJour, Kandy Ho and Miss Fame, Katya and Mrs. Kasha Davis, Max and Violet Chachki, and Pearl and Trixie Mattel.[4][11]

In addition to RuPaul, Michelle Visage and Ross Mathews are judges. Nelsan Ellis and LeAnn Rimes appear as guest judges.[8]

The bottom two teams were Jaidynn Diore Fierce with Tempest DuJour and Ginger Minj with Sasha Belle. Jaidynn Diore Fierce was eliminated from the competition.[4] Trixie Mattel re-entered the competition.[12]

    Production[edit]

Club gave the episode a rating of 'A', calling it one of the season's best.[3] Bernardo Sim included the runway challenge in Out magazine's list of fifteen "moments that prove ... season 7 was actually iconic".[13] In 2021, Screen Rant included Pearl and Trixie Mattel in an overview of the show's ten best makeover challenge transformations.[14]
