"The Mother of All Balls" is the third episode of the sixteenth seasonofRuPaul's Drag Race.[1][2][3] Isaac Mizrahi is a guest judge.[4]

Episode

[edit]
Isaac Mizrahi is a guest judge.

The beginning of the episode reveals the twist of the season: as the winners of the first two episodes, Plane Jane and Sapphira Cristál will hold the power of the Immunity Potions. This power can only be used once during the competition, the owner will be able to decide whether to use immunity to save themselves or another one of the contestants. For the main challenge, the contestants walk the Mother of All Ball, presenting two looks brought from home and one made in the Werk Room. The categories are "Mother Goose", "Significant Mother", and "Call Me Mother/Father Eleganza".

In addition to RuPaul and Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley is a judge and Isaac Mizrahi is a guest judge. After the runway, the contestants rank each other using Rate-A-Queen. Nymphia Wind, Q, and Sapphira Cristál receive positive critiques, and Nymphia Wind wins the challenge. Geneva Karr, Hershii LiqCour-Jeté, and Mhi'ya Iman Le'Paige receive negative critiques, and Mhi'ya Iman Le'Paige is declared safe. Geneva Karr and Hershii LiqCour-Jeté place in the bottom two and face off in a lip-sync to "Maybe You're the Problem" (2022) by Ava Max.[5] Hershii LiqCour-Jeté is eliminated from the competition.

Production

[edit]

Mizrahi was previously a guest judge on the season 7 episode "The DESPY Awards".
