Macduff distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distilleryinMacduff in the Highland whisky producing area of Scotland.

History[edit]

The Macduff Distillery Company was founded in 1960 by the Macduff Distillers Ltd.[1]

The distillery's official name In 1972, Macduff was acquired by William Lawson Distillers but official bottlings come mostly under the former.[2]

In 1972, Macduff was acquired by William Lawson Distillers Ltd. which became part of the Martini & Rossi corporation in 1980.[3]

In 1992, Martini & Rossi were acquired by the Bacardi Corporation. Bacardi put their subsidiary John Dewar & Sons in charge of the Macduff distillery.[4]

Macduff was transferred to John Dewar & Sons by the Bacardi Corporation. Bacardi. Dewar & Sons still manage the distillery today, and Macduff is a major component in their blends like William Lawson.[1]
