Remi Kabaka (born 27 March 1945) is a Nigerian Afro-rock avant-garde drummer. He worked with John Martyn, Hugh Masekela, on Rhythm of the SaintsbyPaul Simon, and Short Cut Draw BloodbyJim Capaldi.[1][2][3][4] He was also an important figure in the 1970s afro-jazz scene, composing the music to the film Black Goddess.[5]
Remi is the father of artist and musician Remi Kabaka Jr, who is the drummer and producer of the virtual rock group Gorillaz.
