Copyvio[edit]

User:Lecutas left the following in the article just above the section on WW2
The undernoted history is subject to copyright in my book Cairo to Berlin.

  1. ISBN-10: 0907322905
  2. ISBN-13: 978-0907322900

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cairo-Berlin-Regiment-Artillery-1939-1945/dp/0907322905/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1271704352&sr=1-1

Unless you can cite your alternative source for using the exact text from my book I should appreciate it for you to remove your content.
I do agree that the history as it was did look rather like a cut and paste and I have therefore deleted it. NtheP (talk) 19:37, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Does it copy the text from your book verbatum? Its also odd that hte only place that I can find that sells this book is Amazon, and hey don't actualy have any in stock.Slatersteven (talk) 20:13, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The following statement has been posted on 3 RHA's Facebook site[edit]

Team - I hope you are enjoying the Christmas break.

Just to make you aware, there is an article circulating that suggests that ourselves and 4 Regt RA will not be equipped with guns under the A2020R structure.

The journalist has got his facts wrong and the Chain of Command may consider a rebuttal or correction to the story. Rest assured, A2020R structures see us still equipped with guns as part of our larger Joint Fires Orbat, and the Gunners have a funded medium-weight gun capability to replace Light Gun.

More detail to follow when we speak in January.

Best wishes once again for Christmas and the New Year.

CG

The Following Blog also deals with Jane's inaccurate information

ukarmedforcescommentary.blogspot.co.uk

The COs messages:

4th Royal Artillery

Army HQ has confirmed that 4 Regt RA will convert to become a STRIKE close support artillery regiment. This means that over the next 10 years or so our Light Guns will be replaced by a new medium weight gun and our tac gps will be mounted in a combination of brand new wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles. This is great news and an exciting time for the Regiment! The Army has also confirmed that we will arms plot to Albemarle Barracks in Newcastle, but NOT BEFORE 2026. Full details will be briefed to the Regiment in the New Year. This announcement brings stability in the short term and some fantastic opportunities in the longer term.

3rd Royal Horse Artillery

The Army 2020 Refine announcements will hit the press in the next couple of days. We have time scheduled in the New Year to brief in detail, but I wanted you to know the headlines for Our Regiment now:
- 3 RHA will stay in Albemarle Barracks. 4 Regt RA will join us here in around 10 years time.
- We will become a Strike Regiment, affiliated to a Strike Brigade. I'll brief you in more detail on this but essentially we retain the same capabilities but grow a little.
- PF will move South in 2019. We will fully support our Gunner brethren in the interim and in the move.
- Training programmes will change slightly to enable us to more efficiently support affiliated Brigades.

That's all you need to know for now, it's all good and the Mighty Third goes from strength to strength. More to follow, and have a great Christmas and New Year! - Unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:2179:C500:4CD:8019:5597:8FB 22:45, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Blogs are inaccurate, not Janes. Sammartinlai (talk) 02:52, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately Sammartinlai, while Jane's is usually accurate on UK armed forces updates, changes, and especially equipment, they can be wrong, as can all news sources, and they have a horrific record on more specialist armed forces update material beyond the usual suspects of the UK, NATO, and United States. Inaccuracies and half-wrong context is common. Here, the CO 3 RHA has specifically endorsed a post on one particular blog, attesting that they have the correct version on this issue.
I find specialist blogs written by experts to be among the best sources for reference on Wikipedia, when they support or expand upon available dead-tree or other sources, and can be corroborated. However, using them here one has to be careful, due to WP:SPS. Buckshot06 (talk) 07:40, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Then you are just pandering to a foul-mouth, extreme right-wing person. Why not trust my blog? Sammartinlai (talk) 07:52, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It is an unsourced claim that the the CO, just like someone refused my edit over Army Sergeant Major. Sammartinlai (talk) 07:54, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm confused. I've found that particular site in question reliable and it extends the data available beyond other sites. I have never seen any foul language on it. Why are you mentioning ad hominem insults? But to be honest, my point is really Jane's; like any source, they're not infallible.
However, whether the text above *was* copied from the 3 RHA Facebook page is a legit question. I have to say I went to the 3 RHA Facebook thinking it had been posted in the last few days, and gave up. I'll have to take a longer look at some other point. Amend: I did a text search for an extract and it popped up: the original post was made on December 16, 2016 at https://www.facebook.com/3RHA/posts/teamthe-army-2020-refine-announcements-will-hit-the-press-in-the-next-couple-of-/1442271145812955/ Buckshot06 (talk) 10:09, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
