I've removed "Preparations for the defense were stymied due to the rivalries of the Roman commanders.", as it didn't seem to fit the context - wouldn't this indicate that the attack would be stymied, not the defence? As noted, this article needs references. Also some of what is likely relatively factual (see citation need tag for example) could use rewriting in a more factual way. Not really to clear up bias so much as to present what seem to have been written as presumed facts in a more concrete way.Eoag (talk) 05:33, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
