Ship displacement

[edit]

I changed the ship displacement from 7400 to 1300. I admit the source puts it at 7400 tons, but others put it at 1300 tons. A ship of 7400 tons, even for the size of Caligula, would be way too much for a wooden ship. It might be possible if Caligula's ship was a steamboat made of steel, but by looking at the archeological remains it's all wood so far. [Gnip|Gnip] January 2, 2007 10:59PM

And someone changed it back. I'll try to find something more definitive.Doug Weller (talk) 13:01, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The image associated to Caligula's ship also appears in the Syracusia ship article

[edit]

Is this really associated to Caligula? this looks exactly the same as the Syracusia ship from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syracusia#/media/File:The_Syracusia.png (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syracusia) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:1650:C10:A066:CB28:ADBE:AD9B (talk) 20:03, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The image/design of the boat used for this artcile is the same as the one for "The Syracusia"

[edit]

The image/design of the boat used for this artcile is the same as the one for "The Syracusia" ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syracusia ) the boat design cant be the same for both articles surely, i wonder which one is the "correct" image... Jepst (talk) 11:29, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
