Victuallers 21:15, 23 March 2007 (UTC) Cary-Grove has done very well in Illinios High School Assciation (IHSA) Class 6A football the last two years. It reached the finals in 2004 and semi-finals in 2005.[reply]
I have both the results from the USCF proving my claim correct and taken from D155's own site acknowledging the team winning state. I am aware that you say that blogs can be unreliable but i urge you to look at this,『The ICCA again this year, with permission from the IHSA, will provide awards to the top placing teams in each Class based on school size. School size is based upon enrollments determined by the IHSA.』[1]

I would appreciate it if my factual information about the music department and alumni not be removed. Someone once posted here, "Doesn't anyone have anything to say about C-G besides sports?" Well, I did. You can look in any yearbook from the 1970s to verify that what I have added is fact. I would say that the two Broadway musicians I listed DO constitute "notable alumni." If you're going to mention the names of coaches and players in the Sports section, then the inclusion of past music teachers also merits inclusion. It seems that some of my information was also removed, I realize now that this was most likely due to the mentioning of names and lack of sources as I did not want to go through all of the records to find them. But there is a common misconception that the volleyball team was the first team to win the state title, and this is false as is shown in Cary-Grove students show off chess prowess at tournament in this article by Susan Polgar at http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/2008_02_17_archive.html
"The team took first place in the 4A class, which is for schools with enrollments of 1,801 to 2,200 students.
The victory came after the team won its conference, the Northern Illinois Chess League, in each of the past three years.
The Cary-Grove team came in 10th place overall, with Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire taking first."
I don't believe either Dean Carlson or Hari Raja constitute "notable" by the standards of Wikipedia. I also don't believe that people should be adding themselves to any such listing. infectbda (talk) 05:46, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is this the same high school that's making headlines because a student was arraested for writing a scary essay? [1] Seems to be. Sabine's Sunbird talk 03:04, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I attended from 1961 - 1966, second Freshman class. This stuff on the page about Trojan "condoms" and "Better safe than sorry" must be someone's idea of a joke and sounds like utter rubbish and ought to be removed. The mascot "Trojans" has its origins in Greek legend and has nothing to do with any brand of condom. "Trojans" was a common mascot choice in the late 50's eary '60's due to the notoriety of USC, the colors Purple and White as well as the school song came from Northwestern U --- much bigger in football back then than today. I'm no one to go touching a Wiki page, but someone ought to correct this. We didn't think there was anything funny about the name of our mascot. But then times change. Purple and white uniforms got harder to find and fell out of fashion. Witness the schools who've abandoned mascot names like "Indians", "Braves", etc. Oh, well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnk300 (talk • contribs) 20:03, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have reverted EnglishSpeech's good faith edit of the principal from Jay Sargeant to Rob Boncoszcy, as their staff directory still lists Jay Sargeant as the current Principal. If a change has been announced, this should probably wait until it actually occurs. ScottSteiner (talk) 20:43, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
