This is a pretty good topic for an article, but it needs a lot of work. Some things that jump out at me: Zengi had nothing to do with Egypt, he died in 1145; the maps are kind of pointless, 90% is wasted space and everything is crammed into a corner...
I like the maps, even thought they do waste some space they are useful. Most people dont realize how close Crusader victory in Egypt was. Tourskin (talk) 02:58, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't had a chance to do any work on this article (I see I made the same comment 16 years ago as well, haha), but there is a recent book by Michael Fulton that would be very useful:
