I just removed a reference to a source after having checked the book and found that it says nothing about the prosecution by the Hague Tribunal. Unfortunately I'm not able to check the second provided source, so I've placed the verify source tag. It's rather distressing that these fake references have survived more than 10 years here. Lemabeta, can you clarify where did you get the numbers you added (5738 killed and 400 missing). The source says on page 7 "The lists include the information about the mercilessly murdered 5 000 peaceful citizens by the occupants and separatists. Besides, 400 people are considered lost." So they contradict themselves somewhat. Note that in the district name lists (part 4 of the book) the total is 4974. Probably the easiest solution (and the one which avoids WP:OR issues) is to this is to add the range to the infobox. Alaexis_¿question? 08:18, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the site used for census numbers is basically a self-published one and should be replaced by a better one. Having said that, I haven't seen any contradicting numbers, so I believe it can stay with a ^{[better source needed]} tag while we are looking for a replacement. If you do see an error there (supported by a reliable source obviously), then feel free to remove it again.
