Misión Observación y ataque ligero.[edit]

I am Nicolas, from Argentina. I just want to tell you that the Pucara is not a counter-insurgency asircraft. It is a grtound forces tactical support, observation and light attack aircraft. Just check the spanish version. sorry for the speling mistakes. Thanks for doing this. Nico ----

Nicolas, if you check existing bibliography about the IA-58 Pucara you can see that it was originally developed as a COIN (COunter-INsurgency) aircraft. Obviously mission evolves with time, so much probably now its mission has been reclassified by the FAeAr. Regards, DPdH (talk) 04:37, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pucara example in East Fortune Museum[edit]

There is a Pucara in the Museum of National Flight at East Fortune in Scotland. It's not mentioned in the paragraph detailing airframes shipped back to the UK such as the examples in Duxford and Cosford.

Pronounciation[edit]

How the hell do you pronounce "Pucara", can we put this into the article? Ryan4314 (talk) 17:28, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm... not an easy one to answer. First of all, in spanish the name is "Pucará", so the last "a" is accentuated. The syllabe "Pu" is pronounced as in "Put", the syllbe "ca" as in "car", and the last syllabe ("ra") as in "rat", and stressing the last vowel. I'm not a linguist (albeit I do speak/understand 4 languages, at different skill levels), but hopefully have helped a bit.
Kind regards, DPdH (talk) 03:15, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think I've got it, thanks for helping with that, you ever thought of doing an {{Audio-es}}?Ryan4314 (talk) 07:12, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So it's staccato, "puh-cah-raah" rather than "poo-car-ah"? -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 17:49, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Operational history... incomplete![edit]

The referred section only mentions its use in the Falklands war, however the aircraft entered service in time to be used in its initial intended COIN role during the fight against the leftist guerrillas in the late 70's during the "Dirty War". Will try to find verifiable sources to support a paragraph referred to that action.
Also this section should briefly mention combat use by the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Kind regards, DPdH (talk) 03:47, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Falklands wreckage[edit]

Consider for use in article. Ryan4314 (talk) 14:31, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rate of climb[edit]

Rate of climb of 5.5 m/s is incredibly low for a turboprop aircraft and need additional cheking. 84.253.101.179 (talk) 11:24, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
