QVIS - the rise and fall of a laser eye surgery technology company

[edit]

From the Lions Eye Institute, TELCO (The Excimer Laser Company) was floated as a public company, QVIS.

After only a couple of years the millions of dollars raised in the IPO was spent and the company went into liquidation.

Constable was a director of QVIS, his son Ben Constable, a lawyer, was employed by QVIS.

The history of QVIS was marked with legal battles between Paul Van Sarloos who was the initial CEO of QVIS. Van Sarloos left QVIS to persue the Laser Eye Surgery business in his own company, Custom Vis.
