Longer than Lake Pontchatrain Causeway?[edit]

Currently the longest bridge in the world is about 5 minutes away from my house, the Lake Pontchatrain Causeway. Its 24 miles long. DOes this structure count as a single bridge? If so, It will be longer wont it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.81.46.119 (talk) 17:22, 10 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

No, because (according to this article) the Qatar bridge will be 28 miles long. Bazonka 11:06, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's only partially bridge and mostly causeway. Hopefully the bridge sections will be convenient for sailors who use the area and over the bits the manatees use, but having seen how environmental reports are treated over here, I'm not holding my breath. - HighlyErratic 14:39, 28 December 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by HighlyErratic (talkcontribs)

New Information[edit]

The bridge was recently covered by MENA Infrastructure Magazine, [1]. It states that construction should start in 2011. -- voodoom (talk) 00:58, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can we include the image from the article? --Lemming64 19:01, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Map[edit]

There is no image, but someone should be able to source and draw a map. I came to the article looking for one... --ChaChaFut (talk) 04:55, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Causeway? Or a (low) bridge?[edit]

Is it a causeway like a dyke, or a bridge near the sea surface? Can water flow from one side of the causeway to the other? 14.0.208.87 (talk) 00:19, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
