[edit]

The history section should be in the past, not the present tense. --Lukobe 19:41, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not Really Perfect

[edit]

I've changed the tenses, eliminated most of the repetition and created more consistency but...the article still feels more like a chronology than a real "article". Complete rewrite, anyone? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.179.227.58 (talk) 02:13, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bagley Wright's role

[edit]

From the article as it stands (uncited and I suspect uncitable): "The next year [1963] saw the beginning of the Seattle Repertory Theater ("The Rep"), under the leadership of Bagley Wright." Now, I like and respect Bagley Wright, but I think this overstates his role. It certainly suggests that his involvement was more hands-on than I believe it was. Unless I'm very mistaken, Wright (who was running Physio Control at the time) was the foremost of several prominent citizens who put up the money to start a theater group, so in that sense he was the "leader", but to the best of my knowledge he never played any role in the theater company's artistic decisions, which is usually what "leadership" implies with reference to a theater company. So I will probably rewrite that, unless someone has a citation showing I'm wrong. - Jmabel | Talk 07:16, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Douglas Q. Barnett

[edit]

I've linked (in the External Links section) an article by Douglas Q. Barnett that might be a good source for some aspects of The Rep, especially the early years. - Jmabel | Talk 06:59, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
