WNCI-FM?

[edit]

Why isn't this article at WNCI-FM??66.245.27.48 22:50, 2 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Because the station is WNCI, not WNCI-FM. Check the FCC database at http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/fmq.html by entering the call letters of a station. Enter WNCI and your results will all list WNCI in the leftmost column because the station is licensed as WNCI (not WNCI-FM). Compare this to the results if you enter WBNS. All of the results will show WBNS-FM since the station is licensed as WBNS-FM. Richardsur 03:55, 2 Jul 2004 (UTC)
As a matter of fact, six-letter call signs (xxxx-FM, xxxx-TV, etc.) are only used to disambiguate a station when a station with the same four-letter call sign root already exists on another band. Since there is only one WNCI, there is no need for the two-letter suffix. Compare WOSU, WOSU-FM, and WOSU-TV. Earpol
Hmmm, good question. The emerging convention at Wikipedia:WikiProject Radio Stations is to follow call letters with a suffix identifying the article as a broadcast station (whether as part of the actual call, i.e. -FM, -TV, etc., or implied as in (AM) ). The initial consensus here, however, seems to be to keep the page at WNCI. Call for votes? -- SwissCelt 14:11, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
My vote, incidentally, would be movetoWNCI-FM. Even though WNCI is unique among radio station call letters, that doesn't necessarily mean it's unique among encyclopedia subjects. WLAF would be one example where a grouping of four letters beginning with a W does not necessarily indicate a broadcasting station. WNCI can, and likely will, always redirect to the article. -- SwissCelt 14:11, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
My vote is against the move. However, if you feel that you absolutely MUST move this article, then move it to WNCI (FM) since WNCI-FM is technically incorrect and inaccurate. Richardsur 05:24, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

HD radio subcarriers?

[edit]

Does WNCI have an HD radio broadcast yet? If it does, do they multicast other programming on the subcarriers? GBrady (talk) 17:42, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is Jimmy jam still married??? Sure doesn't seem to be...

Curious```` —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.55.33.214 (talk) 03:37, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

yes there is 2 HD channels. HD2 spin cycle, HD3 Pride radio RobsPalace76 (talk) 01:33, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WNCI could try classical on HD4 or on their website. They even dumped classical in 1967. 2600:1702:190:DB40:3873:AAA:9E1C:8D2D (talk) 17:58, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

IS JIMMY JAM STILL MARRIED???

[edit]

sure doesn' seem that way. I think we have the right to know. They parade the wedding all over the place, so what it the big secret? He never talks about his wife, and is downright a cad, if he is indead still married. He talks about other woman all the time.

Curious71.55.33.214 (talk) 03:42, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

@71.55.33.214 no I don't think married, but speaks of a girlfriend often 2603:6011:9A23:4103:117C:D3D7:5D88:4A8A (talk) 19:26, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
