War in Iraq (2013–2017) → War against ISIS in Iraq – picking this specifically because this phrasing (or a variation of this with "ISIL" instead of "ISIS") was used frequently during the time this war was taking place.
I have, in fact. If this move isn't successful or receives a procedural close, I'll accept it. I was just providing my own rationale about a possible title change, if only to emphasis the fact that this specific "war against ISIS / ISIL in Iraq" phrase is something that shows up a not-insignificant number of times. Oppose. Firstly, if we extend the above ngram back,[2] we find the term "Second Iraq War" has been in vogue all the way back to about 2001, and peaked in 2007, so it doesn't particularly refer to the period under discussion in this article. Indeed, I'm not seeing that the term has a precise and agreed meaning at all, particularly as a proper name, - in some cases it refers to the 2003 Iraq War itself, with the Gulf war as the first, in others it refers to something else. As RReagan notes, the common name remains War in Iraq, with the year range simply serving as a disambiguator to clearly separate it from other eras.
