template size[edit]

The current template is comprehense but is quite long. Might I suggest at least some abbreviations: drop the words 'disease' and 'syndrome' from some of the entries. Hence Crohn's disease becomes Crohn's. David Ruben Talk 02:56, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Box format[edit]

02-Feb-2008: To allow more words to fit within the navbox area, I have shortened the left-side titles using break tags "<br>" which allows almost all lines to fit on one screen, at 800x600 pixel screen resolution. There might be other ways to condense the navbox without hindering readability. -Wikid77 (talk) 18:01, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accessibility to readers/SEs[edit]

02-Feb-2008: Terms should be kept accessible to readers and to search-engine (SE) matches. Using the extensive extra space released by shortening the left-side navbox titles, I have expanded "IBD" as "Inflammatory bowel disease" and "Crohn's disease" and IBS as "Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)" for general readers and search-engine match. Seek a balance between readability and compactness. In the future, use common terms if possible, such as keep "appendicitis" rather than "terminal colonic pathological status" (or such) when listing terms. Also note that a search-engine scan cannot match "Crohn's disease" if the word "disease" is not shown in the navbox. -Wikid77 (talk) 18:01, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GI bleeding[edit]

Isn't this a sign/symptom and not a distinct disease? Better to include in Template:Digestive system and abdomen symptoms and signs Moribundum (talk) 06:04, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

+ Constipation / diarrhea they are symptoms, not specific diseases — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moribundum (talkcontribs) 06:10, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
