The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Publisher(s)Nintendo
Producer(s)Eiji Aonuma
SeriesThe Legend of Zelda
Platform(s)Nintendo Switch
ReleaseSeptember 26, 2024

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom[a] is an upcoming video game in The Legend of Zelda series published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch.[1] The game has the player control Princess Zelda and features an art style similar to that of the 2019 remake of Link's Awakening.

Gameplay[edit]

Players will control Princess Zelda, who can use the power of the magical Tri Rod to create and duplicate objects known as "echoes", which are imitations of objects and monsters.[1][2]

Synopsis[edit]

While rescuing Zelda from Ganon, Link disappears after being sucked into a mysterious rift, with similar rifts appearing throughout Hyrule and causing others to disappear. With help from the mysterious fairy Tri, who gives her the Tri Rod (an artifact that can magically copy and replicate objects), Zelda sets out to save Link and Hyrule.[1][2]

Development[edit]

The game features the same art style as the Nintendo Switch remake of Link's Awakening (2019).[1]

Echoes of Wisdom is the first Nintendo-developed Zelda game to explicitly star Zelda as the main protagonist. She has previously been playable in other games developed by outside developers such as Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon (1993) and Zelda's Adventure (1996) for the Philips CD-i as well as Hyrule Warriors (2014) and Cadence of Hyrule (2019).[2][3]

The game was first announced on June 18, 2024, during a Nintendo Direct.[4]
