Disrupted in Schizophrenia 2 or DISC2 is a gene located on chromsome 1q42.[1]. The gene was initially identified along with DISC1 in a large Scottish cohort with a t(1;11)(q42.1;q14.3) balanced segregation. Carriers of this familial chromosomal translocation are highly susceptible to the development of an array of psychiatric disorders, namely Schizophrenia, Major Depressive Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder.
