I had been an administrator since spring or summer 2004, and am always happy to help with cleaning up after cut&paste moves, and many other things that require admin abilities. However, I really try to keep totally clear of edit wars. I've only blocked a handful of users for vandalism, never for 3RR, and have never protected a page. I have also never unblocked someone blocked by someone else, and I probably never will, as it would have to be a very clear case of one-sided bad faith or bad judgement, and I believe that is highly unlikely to ever be the case. If you are seeking help with edit war issues, I'd recommend contacting another admin, or posting the issue at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboardorWikipedia:Village pump.

I hereby award you a long-overdue Wikipedia Barnstar for having the patience to turn B-Movie Bandit substubs into real, live articles. You really deserve a lot more of these awards. - Lucky 6.9
I hereby award you the Barnstar of Diligence for your tireless efforts in many places, but most especially for continuing to address the myriad "objections" at Seattle, Washington's FA nomination. Jwrosenzweig 23:40, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Music I like

I've been editing Wikipedia since February 23 2004. I have been averaging 300-700 edits per week, but that number will drop considerably June 2, 2004, when I start working at a new contract job. Update: As of the end of December 2004, I'm unemployed again--great for my Wikipedia editing and everything else, except my bank account. :/ I made my 15,000th edit 17:04, 7 Feb 2005. 20,000th around 17:32, 5 May 2005. (up-to-date edit count, by namespace--thanks Kate!)

I initially did Recent Changes patrol, but since then have mostly done New Pages patrol, and occasionally Random page patrol. Being an introvert IRL, the pattern continues here--I rarely leave "welcome" messages.

Notability[edit]

User:Niteowlneils/2500 Augustine wheelchair ramp is factual, verifiable, and NPOV, meeting the guidelines stated by Jimmy Wales at Wikipedia_talk:Fame_and_importance#No. Still, should it be in the main article space? I'd say no.

Actor lists[edit]

Note: From http://www.starseeker.com . I've linked the names blindly (mostly search and replace), so, especially with movie and TV series names, check for alternate spellings/forms (EG +/- "A", "The", etc.). Also, please feel free to add any names that are missing.

Browser versions I test with[edit]

Tutorial[edit]

My "sandbox" copies of articles I'm thinking of suggesting adding to the tutorial:

I got it down to 10 entries, and added a link to it from the wrap-up page of the Tutorial on 4/29/04
I added it to the flow 4/28/04 Niteowlneils 22:09, 29 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Guide[edit]

My "sandbox" copies of articles I'm thinking of adding to a new Advanced tutorial, the goal of which I see being giving people that have mastered the basics covered in the tutorial, guidance in writing good Wikipedia-style articles, some info on key backend processes/areas, any shortcuts they can use, and ideas about various ways they can contribute.
