    lower-case[edit]

Hello. Please don't use gratuitous capitals in naming Wikipedia articles; write transferable belief model, not Transferable Belief Model. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Michael Hardy 19:31, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Thanks. I have now looked through the Manual of Style. Will try to remember it.

    Proper bolding[edit]

Hello. Wikipedia:Manual of Style calls for setting the title word or title phrase in bold at its first appearance. (I've taken care of this in Adrian Smith.) Michael Hardy 22:26, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

    Edit summary request[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

    Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

And thanks for filling in the metric units as well. Sometimes we many American editors can forget to put things in anything other than imperial. It's a big world. Cheers!--Kchase T 09:01, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

    Units of measure formatting tool[edit]

    Hi,

You might be interested in saving yourself some time and effort by using my unit formatting tool. User:Bobblewik/monobook.js/unitformatter.js is a monobook tool allows units to be formatted with one click on a 'units' tab in edit mode.

You can accept or reject the changes offered and/or do more editing before pressing 'Save'. Simply copy the entire contents of User:Bobblewik/monobook.js to your own monobook. Follow the instructions in your monobook to clear the cache (i.e. press Ctrl-Shift-R in Firefox, or Ctrl-F5 in IE) before it will work.

Any questions, just ask. Regards and keep up the good work. bobblewik 20:18, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

    Help![edit]

I am trying to put a picture on the article about the SPIW weapon. I have a photo that I personally took and that I have successfully uploaded and put into the public domain. My efforts to get it into the SPIW article don't look good. It's too big and dominates the page. What can I do?

I've fixed it for you (see what I did). Basically, images in articles can (and should) be 'floated' to one side of the article, and 'thumbnailed' to reduce their size. See Help:Image for information about syntax for including images in articles. Hope that helps! --ais523 09:19, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

    Error on front page[edit]

    {{help me}}

There's a typo on the front page. I can't see how to edit it. It refers to a cyclone having a speed expressed in 'kph'. The correct symbol is 'km/h'. Can someone fix it, please?

Hi Blaise, it has been fixed. Next time you notice any errors on the main page, please feel free to post them on Talk:Main_Page. Thanks! ArielGold 09:39, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    Notice

The file File:Posterior probability distribution graph.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

    Unused, low-res, no obvious use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 06:33, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
