Peer review request for Eega

Hello, Brianboulton. How are things with you? One of my fellow editors is planning to take the 2012 film Eega to FAC. He has opened up a PR here. Do feel free to leave comments there.  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:57, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but commitments and time makes this impossible. Brianboulton (talk) 20:37, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Do you think it can pass GA nomination? I've translated and I want to be sure 100%. Maybe the musical instrument section could be rewritten as text, not as a list. Triplecaña (talk) 11:08, 4 May 2016 (UTC)

Will wait then, no problem. One question, the article starts with "was originally written as a musical accompaniment to the film of the same name". Musical accompaniment and soundtrack are equivalents in this case? Triplecaña (talk) 14:05, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
Technically, the soundtrack is the means whereby the music accompanies the film, although in practice the two terms are used interchangeably. When I have completed my work on the article I intend to ask for a peer review, followed by nomination at WP:FAC. GAN has no part in my plans at present. If it fails to pass FAC, well perhaps then. Pausing for thought

Nobody deserves this break more than you Brian!!♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:48, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

Have a good break! You deserve it.--Wehwalt (talk) 23:41, 8 May 2016 (UTC)

It's mouse time!

Many thanks for your input at the recent PR for Walt Disney. The article is now at FAC should you wish to comment further. Thanks again – SchroCat (talk) 07:31, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

Contest award

The Wales Barnstar of National Merit

Congratulations on promoting S. O. Davies to FA! Superb work. Awaken the Dragon is still very much alive and is ongoing now, so we are proud to display this as one of the articles of quality. Thankyou for the hard work you've put in during this it is much appreciated! Enjoy your well-earned break from here!♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:46, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

TFA

Precious again, your Spencer Perceval, "the only British prime minister to suffer death by assassination, ... in 1812, during the Napoleonic wars and at a time of great economic distress and industrial turmoil"!

Instead of Reger's Requiem, the centenary of another death is celebrated by Der Mensch lebt und bestehet (nur eine kleine Zeit), with Max Reger works to follow. - I give up on the cantata, where you helped, but find it hard to take that an unknown mere quantity of unknown sources (google hits) should decide over an article title, not the known reliable sources used to write the article. As a reader, I wouldn't understand that. - Off for vacation, - enjoy your break as well, - our time is limited as Reger's piece tells us (Man lives ... only a small time), which he had next to him (for proofreading) when he died. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:50, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

Enjoy your vacation. I can understand you being disillusioned with Christ lag, but I don't think you should give up on it just yet. See how you feel when you return. I am deeply unhappy about how the article has been treated – a complete disrespect for the FAC process, and a general contempt for the views of other editors. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edittoPercy Grainger may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

I was just going through the Milhist FACs, and I can't tell if you're happy with this article or not. Thanks for your May TFA selections, btw. - Dank (push to talk) 14:30, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

Brian, I've only just twigged that the old S.O.D brought up your century. Congratulations and thanks on providing us with such an impressive collection of high quality work. – SchroCat (talk) 15:43, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your kind words and star. I'm enjoying my rest from active editing, but hope to resume later in the summer. Brianboulton (talk) 17:42, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Encouraged to try again

Thank you for your helpful comments in the first FAC of Reger's Requiem. Please look if any concerns are left, I try again, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:02, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Gerda, per my comments above in "Pausing for thought", I am taking a break from writing and reviewing duties for a couple of months – a welcome and much needed rest from FAC. I hope Reger Mark II does well. Brianboulton (talk) 10:24, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
No duty, certainly. I just thought you might want to check if your concerns were addressed, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:54, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Hey Brian, thanks for scheduling this. It's not a big deal, so if this is effort-intensive please deny me, but could you swap Wikipedia:Today's featured article/June 13, 2016 with Wikipedia:Today's featured article/June 14, 2016?Washington was laid down on the 14th, and you know I love date associations—but it's really minor (or I would have listed it here), so if this requires anything more than a copy/paste, just say no. :-) Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 04:26, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi Ed: I've restored the above as I like to have a record in my archives of everything that gets on my talk. As you've obviously realised, Chris is scheduling in June, and I'm sure you'll find him amenable. Brianboulton (talk) 09:25, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
No prob, we're good here—as I realized a few minutes later, "Never mind. I am an idiot. (head->desk in progress)" as the article has a date connection for June 13 as well. Which is also why I put "hope Brian doesn't laugh too hard)" in the edit summary. ;-) Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 15:27, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
I did smile a little... Brianboulton (talk) 15:32, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

A yes for No?

Hi Brian, You have previously been good enough to review one of the previous Bond novels; I have recently filed Dr No, Fleming's sixth Bond novel, at PR for further consideration. If you have the time or inclination, I'd be grateful for any comments you may have. No rush and no compunction at all, obviously. Cheers – SchroCat (talk) 13:01, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Schro. I'm temporarily resting from reviews, and I've refused a few, so I don't think I can pick this one up. If past history is anything to go by you won't be short of comments at PR, so my pennyworth probably won't be necessary. By the time it hits FAC I'll probably be easing my way back in, so I'll pay a visit then. Brianboulton (talk) 23:55, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
No problem at all Brian: enjoy the rest and may see you later in the PR, or perhaps at the FAC, if it gets that far. Cheers – SchroCat (talk) 15:45, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

one of the sunniest operas for TFA

Precious again, your for one of the sunniest operas, composed by one of the saddest of men,- your "labour of love"!

Thank you also for the things you manage during your restful time, such as working on The Rite of Spring for OTD, and restoring a labour of love of others. (I think it should also be moved back.) The Reger Requiem found support now, no need for you to look again ;) - My next is by Rossini. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:08, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
